Dr. Harloff is a pioneer in the area of dynamic asset allocation and
he invented the concept of the Dynamic Frontier, see the feature article
"Dynamic Asset Allocation: Beyond Buy-and-Hold" published in The

HCM's fund selection process employs a series of unique computerized
programs. This advanced technology sets us apart from other money
managers who use widely published text book indicators which sometimes
work and sometimes do not work. HMC has placed an extremely
high emphasis on original research and has developed a quantitative understanding
of the world equity markets. Our trading style is to invest in domestic
and international mutual funds across the traditional style box (large,
small, growth, value) concept. We also invest in funds which
are based on popular indexes and have betas (leverage factors) up
to 2 which can enhance portfolio gains, or losses if wrong on the fund
direction. Funds with negative betas can go up in a down market and
are allowed in tax deferred portfolios. Harloff Capital Management
has developed aggressive investment strategies which show historically
higher returns and less risk than buy-and-hold strategies and this is available
on this web site. HCM's timing research
One of our proprietary indicators, "Harloff Value Index", HVI, was invented by Dr. Harloff.
The HVI values are periodically monitored to determine the absolute HVI value of domestic and international equity and bond funds. We try to remain invested in top performing funds.
